Installation
To get started with Boring Notch, ensure your system meets the requirements: macOS 14 Sonoma or later, and an Apple Silicon or Intel Mac.
You have two primary installation options:
Option 1: Download and Install Manually
- Download the latest
.dmgfile from the official GitHub releases page: Download Boring Notch - Open the
.dmgand drag Boring Notch to your/Applicationsfolder. - Important: Since Boring Notch is from an unidentified developer, you'll need to bypass macOS security.
- Recommended (Terminal): Open Terminal and run:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/boringNotch.app - Alternative (System Settings): Try to open the app, click OK on the warning, then go to System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to Boring Notch.
